But there are other powers that seek to command the war against the Dark One. In the White Tower the Amyrlin Elaida sets a snare to trap the Dragon, whilst the rebel Aes Sedai scheme to bring her down.

And as the realms of men fall into chaos the immortal Forsaken and the servants of the Dark plan their assault on the Dragon Reborn . . .

🦴 Musculoskeletal System — Worldbuilding Skeleton
  • Diagnosis: 5 — Epic Skeletal Integrity

Clinical Notes:
C’mon. The amount of time and thought that went into this. I am still speechless that with each book there is still more and more to learn. Like, how does this world keep getting bigger?!

🫀 Cardiac System — Character Pulse
  • Diagnosis: 5 — Heroic Vitality

Clinical Notes:
I still hate Nynaeve with passion. I read a review recently, and it was based off reading the first 3 books, but their complaint was that there was no character development. I genuinely had no idea how to respond, I may hate some of them, but all the characters grow, just not in the way that would be best for their success.

⚡ Nervous System – Quest Mission Adrenaline
  • Diagnosis: 5 — Maximum strain

Clinical Notes:
Too many to list, and at this point, too many spoilers. But we still out here fighting the Dark One.

🩸 Circulatory System — Political Blood Pressure
  • Diagnosis: 5 — Critical Emergency

Clinical Notes:
Again, limited due ti spoilers, but yea the Game of Houses is still very strong.

🧬 Genetics — Magic System DNA
  • Diagnosis: 4 — Well Sequenced

Clinical Notes:
Balefire, I need more Balefire.

🔥 Trauma Response — Climactic Trauma
  • Diagnosis: 5 — Catastrophic Trauma

Clinical Notes:
So far, this series is 6 for 6 when it comes to when it comes to me not being able to put the book down for the last 100 pages or so. May have issues with pacing in between, but always the most epic fights and tense conflicts.

💊 Prescription Tropes

Recommended For:

  • Extensive character and world building
  • Epic fantasy with an emphasis on history
  • A story with plots that keep on expanding

⚠️ Known Side Effects:

  • Slow pace… slow, slow pace
  • Takes a lot of concentration to remember details
  • Worst appendix I have ever seen in my life

📝 Long-Term Prognosis

Closing thoughts:
This book was a struggle for me, but I think it was my fault. As much as I am enjoying these, I do not think I can binge them book after book. I need to take a break between them. For me, things really slowed down here. I actually read two other novels in-between this. I read about 300 pages, went to another novel, read another 300 pages, went to another new novel, and then came back and finished. It not that I thought this was bad at all, I was enjoying it, it was just that this novel seemed to slow down a lot compared to the first five, and I found myself rushing or skimming over parts to get to dialogs or the next scene – and this exactly how to NOT enjoy this series.

I know the next 3 books (book 7-10) are known for being notoriously slow, and knows as “the slog”, and I don’t want to feel rushed as it has been an amazing story and worldbuilding like I’ve never encountered before.

I’ll be taking a couple months off from the series, probably the summer, and get back into it sometimes in the fall.
